•It came as a shock to the 18 and below crowd that you can make your own tartar sauce….I just remember the look of awe and wonder. You can adjust it to fit your tastes with different herbs and another flavor of pickle. Add some ketchup to make 1000 island dip or spice it up with some extra hot sauce or chipotle.
1 1/2 cup mayonnaise 3 tbls chopped dill pickle 3 tbls chopped red or white onion 1 garlic clove-mince juice of 1 small lemon 1 tsp chopped parsley pinch of salt and pepper
Mix all of the ingredients together and let sit in the fridge for at least a hour so all of the flavors get acquainted. Taste for seasoning. Serve with fish and chips, on a salmon burger, or anything else that screams for tartar sauce.
